Eyes Wide Open

I saw a very moving exhibit today entitled Eyes Wide Open put on by the American Friends Service Committee (Quakers). It consisted of 987 pairs of combat boots with name tags on them for each of the American soldiers killed so far in Iraq. They were laid out in Union Square Park. Very sad. See pictures of the boots at <photos.yahoo.com/evespix> Click on the third folder.

Arthur Schwartz

Arthur Schwartz of Food Talk is no longer on the air. He and Dr. Ronald Hoffman were the only personalities that I listened to on WOR. The station seems to feature rabble rousing ranting right wing individuals most of the day (and night). Arthur is genuine, very knowledgeable and principled. We could trust what he told us. I will miss him. Hopefully he'll emerge somewhere else soon. Good Luck Arthur.
