A little levity might help right now. In the spirit of recycling (conservation) today's Times has an article about composting with worms in your NY apartment. If this catches on we can reduce the amount of garbage going into our land fills greatly. It will also reduce pollution because we will need fewer garbage truck to haul the refuse. This using less fuel and reduced need for replacing the trucks. More to come.

Those of us who supported John Kerry did so because we felt that our world needed changing. We needed to protect our environment, reduce the nation's debt so that there would not be such a heavy burden on future generations, preserve our freedoms for our citizens and promote peace in the world. Without the backing of the the federal govenment these ideals will be hard to promote. But there are some things we can do without, or inspite of our leadership. Over the next few weeks I will try to address these various issues and see what we as individuals can do. Perhaps we can start a grass roots movement that will counteract the misguided goals of the federal government. This may sound naive but what else can we do?
