In the spirit of conservation and reduced consumption I drive less and when I do need wheels I use my prius. This hybrid car is very fuel efficient getting on average 42 mpg and has a range of 500 miles between fill ups. In addition to being great for the environment it is shorter than many compacts fitting into quite small parking spots. Yet it is very roomy inside. That is because it is higher and somewhat wider that many compacts. Visibility from the driver's seat is phenominal. It seems to cost more than comparable cars but within a year you get that money back. There is a $2000 tax deduction and you use less of the high priced gasoline. It is very quiet because it shuts down when it is stopped. It does not idle. Because of this idle and the use of electricity the car polutes less. I love my Prius
