More on Buses
This almost spoiled the march for me. As I returned to the parking lot where our bus was parked I heard this loud hum of all the bus engines going. There were at least 100 buses. I was early and most of these buses were not leaving for at least an hour or more. Why were the engines on? Now what do I do? I started approaching several of the drivers, some out of their vehicles and some inside. I asked why they had the engines on. The buses were empty and the drivers said they had to keep them cool for the later arriving riders. It was not a hot day and it was overcast. I mostly got shrugs from them. Several drivers did not have the engines on and I thanked them. The driver of my bus had his engine on. I asked him did he have children and/or grandchildren and would he consider shutting the engine to help our environment. He shut the engine without malice. No one was uncomfortable or complained. I hope I awakened the consciousness of some of the drivers.
