Bus Pollution
According to NYC regulations, as well as clean air standards, busses are not supposed to to idle longer than 90 seconds in our city. Yesterday, on EARTH DAY I passed by a whole block of buses on 39th Avenue between Main and Union Streets in Flushing where they discharge passengers and stay until they resume their next run. All but one of the busses had their engines on and one driver even disembarked his bus with the motor on. I have written to the MTA about this matter and hope it will be resolved very soon.
