Just heard on Air America Radio. Reduce the waste created by packaged lunches served or brought to school. lap top lunches is recommending that children take lunch from home with fewer waste material. Use reusable containers and utencils or both food and drinks. Avoid drink cartons, foil and plastic wrappers and prepackaged products. The Japanese have such a system where one compartmentalized plastic box contains all the food the child can eat. This all fits into the lunch box which the child takes home for refill for the next day.
