The events of the last few days have been horrendous and literally stunning. In a way it becalmed me. Now I felt this administration could not win the November election. But my reaction was premature. I heard an interview with a resident of Fort Ashby who would not identify himself. He said that if Pvt. Darby who was the first to bring light to the atrocities in Abu Ghraib prison had been in Viet Nam with him he would have been punished and killed by the other troups for his disclosures. According to the anonymous interviewee Darby should not have exposed his fellow soldiers (and civilians) involved. So much for my becalmment. We still have a serious problem and will have to work hard to unseat this administration. america votes is organizing a volunteer force to work in the 17 swing states to bring out the vote in November. It is the people who did not vote who allowed Bush to steal the presidency. This group is mobilizing to register voters now and will also be active during the actual election to get the voters to the polls. Let's see what we all can do.
