Once again both the city and state of New York are proposing cutting the budget of the Queens Public Library. This is outrageous. We have already lost many hours of service and most of us do not have access to a library on Saturdays. It is also clear that there is less money for purchasing books. Because I have access to the library's web site I can locate any book I want before I actually go out of the house. I am finding more and more that fewer and fewer copies of popular books are available. I am writing to Governor Pataki in Albany, NY 12224 and Mayor Bloomberg, NY 10007. I will also write to my councilman, state senator and state assembly person to urge them not to cut this budget. If you have read this and are in NY, please do the same.
